Same thing used to happen with many print newspapers / tabloids / magazines to. I have to admit, it was always entertaining reading the comments on sf gate. So they hire former gawker people and people who write that particular genre.

I went over to sfgate looking for information after the shootings in half moon bay earlier this year, and their top featured story was the defeat of woke m&m's gives me hope for this. But, unless i'm mistaken, they've removed them completely. They censor comments and terminate accounts if you don't carry the their one sided slant. Sfgate.com will no longer feature articles from the columnists. The only columns that will stay on sfgate.com are from sports and arts & entertainment.
