I can say that for me, i was able to get it to work on. A subreddit for news, tips, and discussions about microsoft bing. Same here, lost my most frequent visited websites only on chrome with bing on all my pc's.

To turn off trending now, go to bing.com click on settings at the bottom of settings > slide the button next to show news and interests to the left to turn off trending now. I've seen a bunch of people say they had to use the bing home page, other's said the edge new tab page worked for them.
