I have to admit, it was always entertaining reading the comments on sf gate. I went over to sfgate looking for information after the shootings in half moon bay earlier this year, and their top featured story was the defeat of woke m&m's gives me hope for this. No articles have comments enabled.

Same thing used to happen with many print newspapers / tabloids / magazines to. What happened to the comment section on sfgate.com? I used to enjoy reading them and now none of the articles have comments?!?! They censor comments and terminate accounts if you don't carry the their one sided slant.
But, unless i'm mistaken, they've removed them completely. Sfgate.com will no longer feature articles from the columnists. There's a community for whatever you're interested in on reddit. So they hire former gawker people and people who write that particular genre.
