Didn't know that 5950x cant benefit from oc. The 5950x seems more like a server cpu, so in that sense it might be. In workload it has a significant boost.

For most games you can turn smt off and run as a straight 16 core rather than 32 threads. 5950x vs 5800x3d i understand that the x3d is the fastest gaming cpu of the two, but is this still relevant for games that are cpu intensive where processing is priority. 5800x vs 5800x3d in gaming = decent little upgrade.
I love having the 16 cores but i'm led to lieve the 5800x3d is better for.
For pure gaming experience the 5800x3d is better, but i quite frankly don't know much about streaming, rendering and developing. If the difference is that tiny i would. 5800x3d vs 5950x hi, i currently have a 5950x and i have bought a 5800x3d. The 5800x3d is pretty useless in comparison to the 5950x for anything other than gaming.
Now i'm wondering if it was worth it. 5800x vs 5950x in gaming=basically no difference. So 5950x will introduce bottlenecks at 1440p in games but provide alot more juice for productivity tasks, while 5800x3d will be perfect in gaming but wont be as fast as 5950x in. I would choose the 5800x3d, because it outperforms the 5950x in most games, sometimes by 20% or more.
The 5800x3d is the clear choice.
In workloads basically no difference.
