I have my laptop connected to an external monitor and always had it set for dual display. The laptop finally started up but when i logged into my user account (which was admin), i found most of the icons on window 8 page has disappeared and all the programmes are gone. Recently it has changed to computer monitor only and won't let me choose any other setting.
