So they hire former gawker people and people who write that particular genre. I have to admit, it was always entertaining reading the comments on sf gate. I went over to sfgate looking for information after the shootings in half moon bay earlier this year, and their top featured story was the defeat of woke m&m's gives me hope for this. They censor comments and terminate accounts if you don't carry the their one sided slant.
