Seems like a decent deal. I plan on maxing out my tfsa in next 5 years. Why stick with the s&p500 when you can get a cheaper total stock market etf by using xuu ?

Keep in mind that xuu and xuu.u have different cusip numbers, so you can't buy in usd and then sell it for the cad$ equivalent. In xuu, those smaller cap companies will count for a tiny fraction of a percentage compared to the largest cap ones which may count for as much as 5% in just one company.
