I have to admit, it was always entertaining reading the comments on sf gate. What happened to the comment section on sfgate.com? Reddit is a network of communities where people can dive into their interests, hobbies and passions. The only columns that will stay on sfgate.com are from sports and arts & entertainment. Sfgate.com will no longer feature articles from the columnists.
But, unless i'm mistaken, they've removed them completely. There's a community for whatever you're interested in on reddit. No articles have comments enabled. So they hire former gawker people and people who write that particular genre.
